June America was created by Tim Nyberg (aka Tim, the Duct Tape Guy) who also gave voice to "Helmer the Farmer Johnson with the Farm Report" for the station.
On the right is a link to a sampling of June's household hints - beginning with that first call of gratitude for the morning greeting and a few other little establishing bits. The genesis of the hints idea came when June is called upon to help answer a listener's question: "How do the spaghetti stains on kitchen utensils disappear after being placed in the kitchen drawer?" (The audio quality on some tracks is shakey - sorry about that - stick with it - they get better.)
Nothing was ever scripted - all bits were improvised on the spot by all parties involved. It was a lot of fun.
We're still searching around for more of the classic wacky hints and will post them as they turn up. Stay tuned...
Click here to see John, Bob and Roger (too) in action on a WCCO tv special segment. Listen for June's voice around 2:30 of the video.

Thanks to John Hines, Bob Berglund and Roger Anderson for permission to post this little bit of morning-drive radio history.
